Wilderness Fresh Produce is established as a division of Cherry Central Cooperative, Inc. to market fresh Michigan apples, asparagus and prune plums for several of its members.

 

 

1986
 

Wilderness Fresh Produce begins importing fresh asparagus from Latin America to expand its existing supply base in the United States and offer retailers in Canada, Europe and the United States year-round fresh asparagus.

 

 

1988
 

Wilderness Fresh Produce begins importing and exporting fresh strawberries, snow peas and sugar snap peas from Latin America to Europe and the United States. The company also begins exporting Peruvian mangoes to Canada and Europe.

 

 

1990
 

Due to the success of its existing import and export programs, Wilderness Fresh Produce launches a fresh mango import program for the United States.

 

 

1991
 

Wilderness Fresh Produce and its Latin American business partners incorporate and form the first grower-owned global marketing cooperative, North Bay Produce, Inc.

 

 

1994
 

In order to secure a year-round supply of asparagus and add seedless grapes to its expanding supply base, North Bay Produce, Inc. members purchase a farm in Peru and create the export company, North Bay Produce, S.A.

 

 

1995
 

North Bay Produce, Inc. opens a bonded warehousing facility in Miami to ensure high quality standards for its growing import program.

 

 

1998
 

North Bay Produce, Inc. purchases stock in Michigan Apple Packers Cooperative, Inc., a fresh apple packing and distribution plant, to guarantee quality handling of its product.

 

 

2001
 

To continue to meet rising consumer demand for a variety of year-round fresh produce, North Bay Produce, Inc. and several Argentine blueberry producers establish North Bay Argentina, S.A., a fresh produce export company, located in Buenos Aires.

North Bay Produce, Inc. opens a larger, state of the art warehousing operation in Miami to facilitate better handling and distribution for its expanding import program.

 

 

2002
 

North Bay Argentina, S.A., in cooperation with several Chilean berry growers establishes North Bay Chile to increase blueberry and raspberry exports.

 

 

2003
 

North Bay Argentina, S.A. the leading berry exporter in Argentina, constructs a new state of the art facility, adjacent to the Ezeiza International Airport, to pack, fumigate and export increasing production more quickly and efficiently after outgrowing its current facilities.
