North Bay is committed to consumer health and safety.

North Bay growers have high production standards and comply with Food Safety Programs & Practices that promote the safe cultivation and distribution of fresh, nutritious, contaminant-free produce. Such programs outline appropriate practices for production, handling, pest management, fertilizer use and transportation. Our growers regularly review safety measures for adequacy and effectiveness and several also voluntarily submit to third-party evaluations of their systems.

As a fresh produce importer, North Bay strongly supports initiatives that promote physical product security during production, transportation and importation. We are currently participating in the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) and complying with the new voluntary Country of Origin (COO) labeling standards, established by the USDA. North Bay imported product is subject to all U.S. Customs Service import safety and security measures.

North Bay staff at each of our Warehousing & Packing Facilities inspect domestic and imported product for freshness and oversee that it is properly and securely handled and distributed. In the event that potentially hazardous or illegal products reach the market, North Bay is prepared to address the concern quickly and effectively with our Product Recall-Consumer Complaint Program. In addition, we utilize a positive lot identification system that allows us to thoroughly track all of our products.
