Asian Style French Green Beans

Asian Style French Green Beans

An easy and healthy side dish.


  • 1 TBLS vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (thin sliced)
  • 2 pounds French green beans, sliced on a bias (rinsed and trimmed if necessary)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tsp fresh red chili (sliced thin, optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Step 1. 

In a large non-stick pan, heat oil and garlic until fragrant. 

Step 2. 

Add French green beans and cook until they start to soften and brown in some places.

Step 3. 

Add broth and soy sauce and cook beans until crisp tender 3-4 minutes.

Step 4. 

Add chili sauce and chilies (optional) and add salt and pepper to taste. Transfer to serving bowl and serve immediately.

Sharon's Hint

Like heat, add another 1 tsp red chili slices or a drizzle of sriracha sauce!
