Asparagus Wrapped in Pastry

This recipe makes an easy appetizer or side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

  • 3/4 cup shredded swiss cheese

  • 12 asparagus spears

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Step 1.

Preheat over to 400F degrees.

Step 2.

Slice puff pastry into 1/2 inch strips.

Step 3.

Sprinkle swiss cheese on puff pastry strip.

Step 4.

Wrap strip of puff pastry around asparagus. Repeat with the rest of the asparagus.

Step 5.

Place the wrapped spears on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Step 6.

Brush them with egg wash, then sprinkle with parmesan cheese and pinch of salt and pepper.

Step 7.

Bake for 18 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
